Curriculum Choices for 2025 - Grade 10!

Image
Hey Everyone, This year is already flying by with Easter now in the rearview mirror! We had an insane start to the year with family staying with us, homeschooling, my son starting Grade 11 at school and my daughter who has a disabililty starting her school leavers program. It is starting to settle down now with everyone in their routines, though we have added two nights of gymnastics to Miss B's schedule starting in Term 2. We have adjusted expectations and curriculum from last year as Miss B is able to do more sports and following her interests more.  We were going through the IXL curriculum for maths as it was helpful last year, however this year, she decided that she needed more express instruction in the lessons. Which is where Maths Online comes in. The lessons include video instruction, a sheet of example questions they go through in the video, a worksheet and an answer sheet. Our Homeschool Routine for Term 3!

Hey Everyone! So this is a first for us, having a homeschool routine actually written down with times. Typically, we just go with the flow and get started when Miss Ma'am wakes up. I choose our read aloud books from the library and they need to be something to do with what we are learning about.   Last term we were studying the human body and some of the systems so we read a book about Florence Nightingale. I also want to introduce some Shakespe...

Introduction to us!

Hey Hey! Welcome to our first post! We are a homeschooling family with a little twist. We have 4 kiddos - all teenagers, but we are only homeschooling one.  Our oldest kiddo has graduated high school already, our second is about to start her last year of school at a state school where we are, our son is at the same school he has been at since kindy and our youngest is the one we are homeschooling. Our reasons for homeschooling is mainly time. She has a few diagnoses that make traditional school hard for her. She has a couple of appointments every week so we were taking time out of school for those as well as those sick days she needed. We had tried the Distance Ed route this year (she has been at home since the second term this year) but the demands on her were still pretty great and the assessments were too difficult to get in on time.  So homeschooling it is!  We are both very excited to start homeschooling next year and we have been very busy gathering all the in...
